First… a little bit of history about the humble sandwich
John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, apparently invented the sandwich when he asked for some meat to be brought to him in between two slices of bread so he could hold his meal in one hand. Or as another story goes he was a gambler who didn’t want to interrupt his game so he would order what would later become known as the sandwich. This was well known amongst his friends who began to order “the same as sandwich” and the rest as they say, is history.
